Research. Find out which are the ideal keywords that you want your advert to appear for. Use tools such as Wordtracker to find out what is being typed into search engines. Look at your statistics to find out what phrases have been used to locate your site already. Specific adverts. You need to write adverts that are specific to the keywords chosen. This means you may have to group your keywords into topics and write an advert for each topic. Ideally you want to repeat the keywords in the advert text as well.

Monitoring. Don’t set up a PPC and leave it. To make the most of your money you need to constantly monitor and improve the campaign. Turn off poor performing keywords, emphasise those that work well, hone your advert text and make improvements to your site to increase conversions.

Specific pages. It is better to use a campaign to drive people to a specific page on your website, and not your homepage, that relates to the particular keyword or phrase they typed into the search engine.
